Cooley Gallery

The Cooley Gallery specializes in fine American paintings and works on paper of the 19th and 20th centuries, including the Hudso n River School, Connecticut Impressionism, and select contemporary realism. Set in a deceptively large 19th century building, our four diverse exhibition galleries have been described as "a cool, quiet oasis where tranquil, intimate, all-is-right-with-the-world landscapes of 100 years ago are a visual and mental balm

Stone Museum

Since reopening 1992, the Stone Museum offers slide lectures, naturalist-led hikes, and special events and provides natural history exhibits and trail maps for visitors and hikers.

Peoples State Forest was established in 1924 for the people of Connecticut. It is open to the public for picnicking, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
